First start

The first time Clutch opens, it asks one question: What will you use it for?

  • Streaming games: your game or screen, your webcam in a corner, game and desktop sound, and your mic.
  • Talking to camera: your webcam full screen, with your mic.
  • Recording videos and tutorials: your screen with your mic, set up for recording.
  • Vertical video (TikTok, Shorts, Reels): a 1080 × 1920 canvas.

Clutch then finds your screen, webcam, microphone and video encoder, lists what it found, and builds a ready scene. Your microphone gets noise suppression straight away, and Clutch picks the performance profile that suits your PC.

Want a specific resolution? Click Choose the resolution myself to see every canvas preset (1080p60, 1440p60, 720p, vertical and more).

  • Record: click Record in the top bar.
  • Go live: click Go Live, pick your platform and paste your stream key.
  • Clip your games: turn on clip mode in Settings → Clips.

You can run the first-start setup again at any time: open the setup menu in the top bar and choose New setup… (see Setups).
